Bangladesh-Algeria Diplomatic Relations Set to Deepen in Future: Adviser Sharmeen

Dhaka: Social Welfare Adviser Sharmeen Soneya Murshid today affirmed that the diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Algeria are not only strong but are expected to grow even closer in the future. This statement was made during a meeting with Algerian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr. Abdelouahab Saidani, at the ministry office.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Adviser Sharmeen highlighted the potential for expanded cooperation between the two nations, particularly in economic and commercial sectors. Her dual role as women and children affairs adviser also underscores the multifaceted nature of this bilateral relationship. The discussion with the ambassador covered a wide range of mutual interests, as noted in a press release from the Social Welfare Ministry.



Ambassador Saidani emphasized the long-standing bilateral relations, which have been in place for over fifty years. He acknowledged Bangladesh’s current transitional phase and expressed heartfelt sympathy for the victims and those injured during the July uprising. The meeting reflects a shared commitment to strengthening ties and exploring further collaborative opportunities between Bangladesh and Algeria.
