Bagerhat: Bagerhat District BNP today organized a preparatory meeting at its district office in anticipation of the return of the party’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, to the country on December 25. Bagerhat District BNP Convener Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim presided over the meeting.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Talim emphasized that the return of Tarique Rahman will bring new prospects for democracy and bolster the movement to restore the people’s right to vote. He expressed hope that under Tarique Rahman’s leadership, BNP will progress in a more organized manner towards establishing a democratic and prosperous Bangladesh.
The meeting was attended by leaders from the district, upazila, and various units of BNP and its affiliated organizations. A significant number of BNP leaders and activists from Bagerhat are expected to participate in the reception program in Dhaka on December 25 to commemorate Tarique Rahman’s homecoming.
