Dhaka: Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Base Bir Uttam A K Khandker team emerged victorious in the Inter-Base Hockey Competition-2026, securing the championship title by defeating BAF Base Zahurul Haque team with a score of 6-2 in the final match.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the competition concluded with a closing and prize distribution ceremony held at the hockey ground of BAF Base Bir Uttam A K Khandker at Dhaka Cantonment. The event marked the end of a five-day series of matches that featured intense competition among participating teams.
The ceremony was attended by Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Vice Marshal Rushad Din Asad, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. He observed the final match and later presented awards to the champion and runners-up teams. The event highlighted the spirit of sportsmanship and dedication displayed by the participants.
In addition to Air Vice Marshal Rushad Din Asad, the ceremony was attended by the Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bir Uttam A K Khandker, along with senior Air Force officers and other members. The competition was officially inaugurated by Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bir Uttam A K Khandker Air Vice Marshal Haider Abdullah on September 6.
The Inter-Base Hockey Competition saw the participation of seven teams from various BAF bases, showcasing their skills and teamwork over the course of five days. The event, as reported by the ISPR, served as a platform for fostering camaraderie and enhancing the competitive spirit among the Air Force personnel.
