Baby Kidnapped from Thakurgaon Hospital Rescued by RAB in Gazipur

Gazipur: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has rescued a kidnapped two-and-a-half-month-old baby from Thakurgaon and arrested four abductors in the Mulaid area under Shripur police station in Gazipur district.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minor boy named Sayan, son of Md Shmul Islam from the village of Mujbolli in the Vulli area of Thakurgaon, was abducted from Thakurgaon 250-bed General Hospital on March 10 at 6:30 pm while he was under treatment. Following the incident, the victim's father filed a case with Thakurgaon Sadar police station on the same day, which created a sensation in the area and attracted the attention of the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1 of Dinajpur Camp of RAB-13.

CPC-1 of Dinajpur Camp of RAB-13, alongside the police, initiated intelligence activities and conducted a shadow investigation into the case to locate the absconding abductor. Acting on a tip-off, an operational team from CPC-1 of Dinajpur Camp of RAB-13, in collaboration with the Crime Prevention Specialised Company of RAB-1 at Gazipur, conducted a raid in the Mulaid area under Shripur police station in Gazipur. The operation led to the arrest of four kidnappers and the rescue of the victim at 1:45 pm on Wednesday.

The detainees include Sonali Akhter Shirin, 20, wife of Md. Raju Kabiraj, and Raju Kabiraj, 22, from the village of Nultola Barabari in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha, along with Md. Liton Mia, 35, son of Md. Akkas Ali, and Lovely Begum, 39, wife of Md. Liton Mia from the village of Chakpara in Kamalakanda upazila of Netrokona. For further legal proceedings, the elite force handed over the arrested abductors and the rescued victim to Thakurgaon Sadar police station. The rescued baby has been reunited with his parents.
