Dhaka: Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon today held separate courtesy meetings with delegations from Australia and China at his office here. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of higher education, skills development, and research.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the first meeting took place at the Ministry of Education with an Australian delegation led by Assistant Minister for International Education Julian Hill. Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Md. Abdul Khaleque and Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Susan Ryle were present at the meeting. The discussions highlighted mutual cooperation in higher education and research, with the Australian delegation commending Bangladesh's transformative initiatives in education. Dr. Milon expressed gratitude for Australia's support and urged the expansion of scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students, emphasizing the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in developing skilled human resources.
Later, a delegation led by CHEN Zhimin, vice-president of China's Fudan University, also met with the education minister. Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Md. Abdul Khaleque and representatives from Fudan University attended the meeting. The focus was on advancing educational cooperation between Bangladesh and China, with Dr. Milon encouraging the Chinese delegation to enhance student and teacher exchange programs and collaboration in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
