Assembly in primary schools canceled due to heat wave

In view of the ongoing heatwave situation across

the country, the morning assembly of all government primary schools in the

country will remain closed until further notice.

This was stated in a notice signed by Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, senior

information officer of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, here

today.

The notice also said: “The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education is keeping

a close eye on the prevailing heat wave situation across the country. The

decision has been taken considering the well-being of the students and

teachers of the schools.”

Schools and colleges across the country are scheduled to open tomorrow after

the holy Ramadan, Independence Day and Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

Earlier on Friday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department issued a heat

wave warning for 72 hours, stating that the ongoing heat wave is expected to

continue in most parts of the country.
