Dhaka: A week-long solo art exhibition titled "Face of Life" by Aminul Islam Ashik started at the Zainul Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University. Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition on Monday evening as the chief guest in the Osman Jamal Auditorium of the Faculty.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the exhibition showcases 27 sculptures crafted from wood, fiberglass, and iron, alongside 20 paintings. The exhibition will continue until May 25 and is open to the public daily from 11 am to 7 pm. Artist Aminul is a former student of the Sculpture Department of DU and a prominent sculptor.
Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed remarked that the artist's profound thoughts and distinctive approaches are reflected in these pieces. He hopes that the exhibition will serve as a source of inspiration for students and emerging artists.
Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Professor Dr. Md Azharul Islam Sheikh, Honorary Professor Md Hamiduzzaman Khan of the Sculpture Department, and Mahbubur Rahman, an internationally acclaimed artist and founder of Britto Art Trust, were present as special guests at the event.
