Juraichhari: Nearly 50-year old mosque, located in the remote Banyogichara Bazar of Juraichhari upazila of the district, has been rebuilt by the initiative of Bangladesh Army Juraichhari Zone. Juraichhari Upazila Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Hasan Sejan formally inaugurated the newly-built mosque this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Bayezid-Bin-Akhand, Deputy Commander of the Zone Major Mohammad Mushfaq Amin Chowdhury, Camp Commander of Yakshabazar Army Camp Major Muhammad Sifat Raihan, and former Upazila Chairman Suresh Kumar Chakma were present at the inaugural ceremony.
Juraichhari Zone Commander Lt. Col. Rashed Hasan Sejan emphasized that the mosque is not just a place for prayers, but serves as a social and religious center. He noted that the mosque will play an important role in awakening the spiritual consciousness of the Muslim community and in strengthening the social harmony and unity of the hilly region.
Built in 1975, the mosque had become dilapidated over time. With the initiative of Juraichhari Zone and the cooperation of local public representatives, the mosque was completely renovated. It has now been transformed into a complete place of prayer for the devotees by adding modern tin sheds, fans, water supply system, and necessary amenities.
