DHAKA, -Bangladesh Army football team and Bangladesh Navy
football team moved to the final round as the qualifying round of
Independence Cup football has begun from today (Friday) at Birshreshtha
Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city's Kamalapur.
In the day's first match, Bangladesh Army blanked ten men Bangladesh Air
Force by 2-0 goals with Raihan and Mijanur scored one goal each for the
winners in the 57th 89th minutes respectively.
In the day's second match, Bangladesh Navy beat Dhaka University Football
team also by the same identical margin of 2-0 goals with Akash and Abu Sayed
netted one goal apiece for Navy in the 24th and 72nd minutes respectively.
Although Dhaka University lost the first match, but they still have the
chance to go to the final round.
Dhaka University will take on Air Force in the batte of final round to be
held on Monday (Oct 23) at the same venue. The winning team of that match
will qualify for the final round Independence Cup.
The Independence Cup will be held with the participation of thirteen clubs of
premier league and three teams from the qualifiers.
The Independence Cup will begin from October 27. The draw will be held before
