Rajshahi: Two individuals, including a member of the Bangladesh Army, lost their lives in a road accident in Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi. The incident occurred due to a head-on collision between a CNG-run autorickshaw and an engine-run three-wheeler, as reported by the police on Friday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the accident took place on Thursday night. The victims have been identified as Md Palash, a 21-year-old soldier, and Abdul Kuddus, a 40-year-old imam. Palash hailed from Manda upazila, while Kuddus was from Raninagar upazila in Naogaon.
Mohanpur police station’s Officer-in-Charge, Abdul Hannan, stated that the collision happened around 9:30 pm in the Saipara area. The autorickshaw carrying both victims collided with the three-wheeler coming from the opposite direction. Both individuals sustained critical injuries.
Local residents immediately transported the injured to the Upazila Health Complex, where medical personnel declared them dead upon arrival. The police have detained the dri
ver of the three-wheeler in connection with the incident.
