Army Detains 4 Drug Peddlers, Recovers Live Bullet

Bogura: The Bangladesh Army has detained four suspected drug peddlers, including a woman, and seized a cache of drugs, weapons, live ammunition, and cash during a special anti-drug block raid in the railway colony area of the district. The operation marks a significant effort in the ongoing fight against drug-related activities in the region.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, army officials familiar with the matter reported that the operation lasted seven hours, conducted from 2 am to 9 am on Monday. During this period, at least 50 houses were meticulously searched as part of the drive. The raid was a coordinated effort led by Captain Jan-e-Alam Sadif and Lieutenant Al Fahad, involving a total of 50 army personnel.



The operation resulted in the recovery of substantial evidence, including one live bullet, 1000 bottles of brewed liquor, 2 kilograms of ganja, 25 locally made weapons, and Taka 10 lakh in cash. These findings underscore the scale of illegal activities taking place in the area.



Captain Jan-e-Alam Sadif noted that preparations are currently underway to file cases against the detainees. Furthermore, all seized items, including the substantial amount of cash, have been handed over to Bogura Sadar Police Station for further investigation and legal action.
