Army Conducts Successful Arms Recovery Operation in Magura

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Army has successfully recovered a large cache of illegal arms and arrested three individuals in a special operation conducted early this morning in Magura.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a specialized army team from the Magura Army camp, led by Major Shafin, carried out the raid at Parnanduali village in Sadar upazila around 3 a.m. Based on intelligence reports, the operation resulted in the seizure of significant weaponry and the arrest of three suspects.



The arrested individuals have been identified as Maruf Hossain, 35, son of Abdul Mazid, Likhon Hossain, 28, son of Salam Hossain, and Ashiqur Rahman, 30, son of Atiar Rahman, all residents of Parnanduali village.



The army recovered a range of weapons, including two shooter guns, ten live bullets, an air gun, 60 air gun bullets, eight explosives, a tear shell reportedly looted from the police, five local sharp weapons, five mobile phones, and a laptop.



Following the operation, the suspects were handed over to Magura Sadar Police Station. Sub Inspector Ripon from Magura Sadar Police Station stated, “The army has handed over the recovered arms along with the three arrestees to Sadar police station at 7 a.m. Legal proceedings are currently underway against them.”
