Dhaka: Bangladesh Army today strongly clarified that Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman does not maintain any personal Facebook profile or other social media account and has no intention of opening any such accounts in the future.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an official statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted that several fake social media profiles have recently surfaced using the name and image of the Army Chief, spreading misleading and false information.
The ISPR emphasized that General Waker-Uz-Zaman does not have any personal social media accounts and reiterated that there are no plans to operate any in the future.
The ISPR has urged the public and media to exercise caution and not be misled by the content or claims made on these fraudulent accounts. Efforts are currently underway to identify and take action against those responsible for creating and operating these fake profiles.
