Rangpur: Deputy Director General of Ansar and VDP’s Rangpur Range, Mohammad Abdul Awal, emphasized the critical role that trained Ansar members must play in the realms of patriotism, discipline, and socio-economic development. He delivered this message as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 14-day Basic Training (Phase three) for 136 upazila/thana Ansar members, held at the Mahiganj Ansar-VDP Training Center in Rangpur City.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the chief guest highlighted the significance of the Ansar force in the country’s development activities. He described Ansar-VDP as a crucial institution for creating skilled manpower in Bangladesh. Awal stressed that Ansar-VDP has been instrumental in generating employment opportunities through technical and vocational training, advocating that such training should enhance skills and contribute to national security and social progress.
Awal further noted that trained Ansar members are expected to exhibit professionalism and efficiency, particularly in the upcoming national elections, by applying their acquired knowledge and skills. He encouraged Ansar-VDP members to leverage their basic training knowledge to foster self-employment and improve the welfare of the people.
In addressing challenges in rural areas, Awal called for efforts to curb anti-social activities such as drug abuse, terrorism, child marriage, dowry practices, women’s oppression, and gang violence. He urged Ansar members to step forward as entrepreneurs through small projects, thus contributing significantly to the socio-economic advancement of Bangladesh.
The ceremony was presided over by Rashedul Islam, Ansar-VDP’s Rangpur District Commandant and Training Course Captain. Other notable attendees included Sadar Upazila Ansar-VDP officer Bijan Dutta and Kaunia Upazila Trainer Md Jewel Rana. During the event, four outstanding trainees were recognized for their achievements, and all participants received training certificates.
The ceremony concluded with the trainees taking an oath to protect their country in the presence of the chief guest.
