Ansar lift National Women’s Handball title beating Panchagarh 30-19

Ansar and VDP team clinched the Exim Bank 34th National Women's Handball Championship title 2023, beating Panchagarh DSA 30-19 at the Shamsul Huda Stadium in Jashore Monday.

This was the 22nd national crown for Ansar women in the national handball competition, including six times in a row.

Panchagarh DSA finished runners-up for the second consecutive time.

Alpana Akter of Ansar was named the best player in the tournament.

State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharjee enjoyed the final as the chief guest and later handed out the trophies.

Bangladesh Handball Federation General Secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor was also present.

Police Handball Club beat Madaripur DSA 20-5 in the third-place match at the same venue in the afternoon.

In the morning, Ansar beat Police 27-3 and Panchagarh defeated Madaripur 32-10 to reach the final.
