ANNISU asks Minister Pandey to make air ticket affordable


Kathmandu: All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union (ANNISU) has demanded Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Pandey, to immediately regulate the price hike of air tickets and make the air fare affordable.

A team under the coordination of Acting Chairperson of the ANNISU, Govinda Giri, drew the attention of Minister Pandey, submitting the memorandum to him at Singha Durbar.

“Landslide, flood and inundation following the incessant rainfall have caused huge loss of lives and properties throughout the country. Main highways are blocked. General public have been directly hit hard due to increase of air fare all of sudden in such hour,” reads the memo.

The delegation also asked Minister Pandey to control, regulate and make adjustment of air fare in a scientific manner and to take stern action against those involved in black marketing and hike in air fare.

The organization demanded to make policy-level arrangement for discount to students in flights as well as to effectively regulate a
irlines companies and effective operation of Nepal Airlines.

Receiving the memo, Minister Pandey said his attention was drawn towards the demands of ANNISU.

He expressed commitment not to allow raise price of air tickets at any cost and fulfill the demands put forth by the ANNISU.
