Cox’s Bazar: Mahidul Islam Ankon fell on a nervous 99 as his side Dhaka Division drew their third match against Chattogram Division in the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL) at Cox’s Bazar Cricket Academy today. Ankon, who was just one run short of a century, was dismissed by Ahmed Sharif in the second ball of the day as Dhaka resumed at 281-4.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the match was destined for a draw after the first day was washed out. However, Dhaka managed to add 120 runs to their overnight total, eventually being bowled out for 401. In response, Chattogram reached 124-4 at stumps.
In their first innings, Chattogram was bowled out for 371, with Sazzadul Hoque Ripon scoring a commendable 139. Chattogram has now lost two matches and drawn one in their three outings, while Dhaka has drawn all three of their matches in the league.
