Dhaka: The government has appointed Supreme Court lawyer Aminul Islam as the chief prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal. The appointment was confirmed through a notification issued by the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry on Monday morning.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Aminul Islam will conduct the tribunal's cases as chief prosecutor until further orders. The notification, signed by Solicitor Md Manjurul Hossain, marks a significant development in the tribunal's leadership.
The notification also announced the cancellation of Tajul Islam's appointment. Tajul Islam had been appointed on September 5, 2024, following the fall of the Awami League government.
