Dhaka: BNP candidate for the Dhaka-16 constituency, Aminul Haque, has pledged to provide gas connections to every household in Pallabi if elected. He criticized the previous government for terminating gas connections to benefit certain cylinder gas businesses.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Aminul Haque made these remarks during a public outreach programme in Mirpur-11 and its surrounding areas. He asserted that a syndicate had artificially created the gas crisis to profit from their cylinder businesses. Haque committed to dismantling this syndicate and restoring gas connections if his party forms the government.

As Haque began his campaign from Mirpur-11, local residents greeted him with flowers. He distributed leaflets outlining his future action plans and interacted with the public. During a discussion with journalists, Haque emphasized that the gas crisis is a significant issue affecting the area and the country.

Addressing concerns about the election environment, Haque accused certain groups of attempting to provoke instability. He instructed his party workers to remain calm but warned that any attempts to create chaos would be addressed firmly. Haque also highlighted reports of NID card and bKash number collections in areas like Taltola, calling it a conspiracy and assuring that the Election Commission has been informed.

Haque concluded by promising to stand by the people in safeguarding voting rights in the upcoming days.
