Farmers in the district have started cultivation of Aman paddy with much enthusiasm .
The farmers are now busy with preparation of land, transpiring Aman seedling from seed bed and planting of Aman seedling in their respective lands.
DAE office sources said, nearly 99,695 hectares of land have been brought under Aman cultivation this season in all five upazilas of the district with the production target of 3,26,644 metric tonnes of food grains.
Deputy Director DAE of Panchagarh Md Rias Uddin told BSS that this year the weather is conducive for Aman cultivation as Adequate rainfall the last couple day is benediction for the farmers.
If the weather will remain favored till harvesting period the farmers will get bumper Aman
production.
DAE has disbursed quality Aman seed, fertilizers among the farmers at a cost of free.
Beside the department has also imparted training to the farmers to make them acquainted with the modern methods of Aman cultivation.
Besides, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank and differen NGO have given short term easy loan to the farmers for boosting production.
