Palash: BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan has accused the previous Awami League government of massive corruption and plundering, which he claims led to the closure of two functional fertilizer factories in Narsingdi. These factories were reportedly merged into one under the guise of building a new facility.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Moyeen Khan alleged that vast sums of money were misappropriated during the establishment of a new fertilizer factory, which involved demolishing two operational plants. He voiced these claims while addressing workers at a gathering organized by the Ghorashal-Palash Fertilizer PLC Employees' Union in Palash, Narsingdi.
Dr. Moyeen Khan further criticized the inauguration of the Ghorashal-Palash Urea Fertilizer Project, suggesting that the public was deceived. He claimed that prior to its commissioning, the factory was presented as operational by showcasing fertilizer sourced from other facilities.
He emphasized the necessity of constructing a genuinely productive economy, asserting that Bangladesh's progress is hindered by corruption. Dr. Moyeen Khan highlighted the persistence of inequality in society, despite sacrifices made by numerous students and individuals to eliminate disparity.
He expressed that if the BNP were to come to power through free and fair elections, the party would focus on eradicating inequality and securing the legitimate rights of the populace.
The gathering was presided over by Al-Amin Bhuiyan, President of the Ghorashal-Palash Regional Workers' Association. Other notable speakers included Palash Upazila BNP President Abdus Sattar, General Secretary Saiful Haque, Joint Secretary Bahah Uddin Bhuiyan Milton, Ghorashal Municipality BNP President Alam Molla, Narsingdi Bus-Truck Owners Association President Sarwar Mridha, and General Secretary of Ghorashal Power Workers' Union Shariful Islam.
