Dhaka: The government has revised and increased the rates of honoraria and remuneration for individuals involved in activities related to recruitment and promotion across ministries, divisions, directorates, and sub-directorate offices. This move aims to adequately compensate those who contribute to these critical functions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Finance Division issued a notification detailing the reassessment of honorarium rates. The circular specifies that the honorarium for drafting question papers has been increased by Taka 1,000, raising the amount from Taka 5,000 to Taka 6,000. Members of Departmental Selection or Promotion Committees will now receive Taka 6,000 per person for each meeting, an increase of Taka 1,000.
Additionally, the honorarium for members and experts of oral or practical examination boards has been increased by Taka 1,000 per person daily, setting the new rate at Taka 6,000. The remuneration for examining each full answer script has been raised from Taka 120 to Taka 130. For evaluating each objective type answer script, the honorarium has increased from Taka 30 to Taka 35.
The daily hospitality expenditure for individuals involved in conducting written, practical, or oral examinations, question paper preparation, or answer script evaluation has been raised from Taka 450 to Taka 500 per person. Honoraria for employees directly associated with conducting these examinations have been increased according to their grade, set at Taka 1,200, Taka 1,000, and Taka 800 per day.
The notification also outlines that the honorarium for the institution head of the examination center, or a coordinator nominated by them, has been set at Taka 3,500. The remuneration for the written examination center inspector has been increased to Taka 1,800 per day.
It is also highlighted in the notification that only one honorarium is admissible for question paper preparation. For multiple meetings held on the same working day, relevant individuals will receive only one honorarium. A maximum of two honoraria may be received if both written and oral examinations are conducted on the same working day. Importantly, no center fee or any other charge is to be paid for using government schools or colleges as examination venues.
The notification notes that the rates of honoraria were previously revised through a notification issued by the Finance Division on February 13 of the current year.
