Dhaka: Gono Odhikar Parishad President and former DUCSU vice president Nurul Haque Nur stated today that the July mass uprising was the result of contributions from all political and social backgrounds, rather than the achievement of any single political party. Speaking at an event marking the 4th founding anniversary of the Gono Odhikar Parishad at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in the capital, Nur emphasized the collective effort of workers, peasants, and ordinary people who opposed fascism and sacrificed their lives for freedom.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nur highlighted the need for those involved in the anti-fascist movement to reach a consensus regarding the Jatiya Party, which he equated with the Awami League, stating that the latter established fascism in the country with the Jatiya Party's support. He accused the Jatiya Party of attempting to manipulate elections with the Awami League's help to engage in activities that undermine the electoral process internationally.

Nur also mentioned his communication with BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed since October 28, 2023, regarding various issues, receiving advice and coordination for rallies with BNP and Chhatra Dal activists. He acknowledged Salahuddin's connection with their movement.

During the event, Nur paid homage to martyrs of people's movements from 1971 to 2024. BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed attended as the chief guest, with other notable attendees including BNP leaders Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Moazzem Hossain Alal, Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Prof. Mia Golam Parwar, and others from various political parties and organizations.
