All Mass-Uprising Martyrs’ Families Set for Rehabilitation, Announces Prof Yunus.

Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus today announced that his interim government is committed to rehabilitating the families of all mass-uprising martyrs and covering the full expenses of treatment for the injured. The announcement came during a televised address marking the completion of 100 days of the interim government.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prof Yunus reiterated his promise that no family of the mass uprising martyrs would be left without support. Each martyr’s family is set to receive Taka 30 lakh, while the health ministry has identified the injured individuals requiring long-term and costly treatments. The government is also facilitating the import of corneas from Nepal for those who lost their eyesight due to pellet injuries sustained during the uprising.

In his address, the Chief Adviser emphasized that some critically injured individuals have been sent abroad for advanced treatment under governmental initiatives. He assured that every martyr and injured participan
t of the July uprising would benefit from the rehabilitation and healthcare plans, reinforcing the interim government’s commitment to their welfare.

Prof Yunus highlighted the efforts of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, which was established to honor the martyrs’ memory and has already commenced its activities robustly, supported by a Taka 100 crore grant from the government. Furthermore, he mentioned that the social welfare ministry has proposed a $5 million allocation to the World Bank through the Economic Relations Division to aid in the rehabilitation efforts and ensure the best possible treatment for those affected by the July-August revolution.
