All Institutions Must Work Sincerely for Development of CHT, Says Dipen Dewan

Rangamati: Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Dipen Dewan today urged all institutions to work sincerely for the development of the hill region with a focus on the government’s 180-day action plan. “No form of discrimination should be allowed in the development of the hill region,” he stated during a views-exchange meeting with officials from various departments at the Deputy Commissioner’s office this morning.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was organized by the Rangamati District Administration and chaired by Deputy Commissioner Najma Afreen. Key figures attending included Chairman of the CHT Development Board Major General (Rtd) Anup Kumar Chakma, Rangamati Region Commander of the Army Brigadier General Mohammad Nazmul Haque, Deputy Secretary of the ministry Kankan Chakma, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Abdur Rakib, Vice Chairman of the CHT Development Board Sheikh Saleh Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of the District Council Khandaker Muhammad Rizaul Karim, and Rangamati Poura Administrator Md. Mobarak Hossain.



The CHT Affairs Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring a balanced distribution of development benefits across all communities and sectors. He also highlighted the need for institutions to play a responsible role in maintaining communal harmony in the hills. During the meeting, officials from various government departments of the Rangamati district presented updates on their activities, challenges, and other relevant information to the minister.
