Bogura: Detective Branch (DB) of Police have arrested a prime accused of the 16-year-old youth Alif murder case in the Nishindara area of Bogura town. The arrested individual has been identified as Rashed Hossain, also known as ‘Dim poch’ Rashed, son of Abul Hossain from Nishindara Mondolpara area of Bogura Sadar upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, acting on a tip-off, a team of DB police apprehended Rashed from the Mahasthan area under Shibganj upazila of the district at 5:30 pm on Monday. During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to stabbing Alif after a failed snatching attempt, as stated by Bogura DB Police In-charge Iqbal Bahar.
Earlier, police recovered the blood-stained body of Alif from the garage of his residence at Nishindara-Sako area at 11 am on February 13. Several knife wounds were found on his body, and a knife was seized following Rashed’s arrest.
Legal proceedings are currently underway against the accused, added Iqbal Bahar.
