AL Leader Arrested in Munshiganj for Alleged Murder in July Uprising Case

Munshiganj: Police arrested Vaggakol union parishad chairman Kazi Monowar Hossain Shahadat in Srinagar Upazila for allegedly killing Riazul, a driver of a locally made vehicle called Mishuk, during the 2024 July uprising. Shahadat, aged 52, is a former general secretary of the Vaggakol union unit of Jubo League and is currently a member of the union Awami League.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shahadat was taken into custody from his residence in the Kamargaon area around 7:00 pm on Monday. Additional superintendent of police (crime and operation) Md. Firoz Kabir confirmed the arrest.



Shahadat was arrested in connection with a case filed over the killing of the Mishuk driver Riazul in Munshiganj on August 4, 2024, as stated by Munshiganj Police Station officer-in-charge M Saifur Alam. The accused has since been produced before the court.
