Dhaka: Fisheries and Livestock, Agriculture and Food Minister Mohammad Amin-ur Rashid announced today that farm products are set to be exported on an industrial scale within the next year. The announcement was made during a meeting with senior officials at the ministry’s conference room.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Agriculture Minister highlighted the significance of agriculture as the backbone of the country’s economy. He emphasized that a large portion of the population is involved in the agricultural sector and stressed the need for its reorganization through proper planning. This, he noted, is essential for strengthening the country’s economy.
The minister also revealed the government’s plan to boost the export of agricultural commodities while reducing imports over the next year. He called for cooperation from all stakeholders to advance the country’s agricultural goals.
During the event, Sultan Salauddin Tuku, the newly appointed State Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, and Livestock, reiterated the importance of the agricultural sector. He urged everyone involved to work with honesty and dedication. Senior officials, including Agriculture Secretary Dr. Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian, attended the meeting where the new ministers were welcomed with floral greetings.
