Dhaka:The Agriculture Ministry is in the process of reviewing candidate lists submitted by districts for fertiliser dealer appointments, with no final appointment date yet set.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the ministry has advised against heeding social media rumors regarding the appointment date. The government is handling this process under the Integrated Policy on Fertiliser Dealer Appointment and Fertiliser Distribution-2026, designed to ensure a steady supply of fertilisers to farmers.
The new policy, which the ministry started implementing in August, involves an initial review by local fertiliser and seed monitoring committees, followed by central verification. Complaints of irregularities and favoritism have surfaced from several districts concerning the candidate lists.
The Agriculture Ministry will announce the final appointment decision once the current scrutiny phase is complete.
