Munshiganj: Home Adviser Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, and Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostafa Sarwar Farooqui have visited the graves of July uprising martyrs Dipjol, Sirajul Faraji, and Sajal in Munshiganj today. The visit was significant as it honored the memory of those who lost their lives during the anti-discrimination student movement.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the advisers met with the families of the martyrs at North Islampur of Munshiganj Municipality. They inquired about the well-being of the family members, reflecting a sense of support and solidarity with the victims' families.
The visit to the graves followed a meeting on local development projects held at the conference room of the district commissioner (DC) office. This meeting took place earlier in the day and was attended by various officials.
Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral M Nazmul Hassan and Munshiganj DC Fatema Tul Jannat were present during the visit. Their presence underscored the importance of the occasion and the commitment of various sectors of the government to remember the sacrifices made by the martyrs.
The martyrs, Dipjol, Sirajul Faraji, and Sajal, were killed by activists of the fallen Awami League and its wings during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 4 of the previous year. The incident remains a poignant reminder of the struggles faced during that period.
