Dhaka: Adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Sheikh Bashir Uddin, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited. The appointment was confirmed through a gazette notification issued by the Aviation-1 Branch of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notification cited the Bangladesh Biman Order 1972 (Reorganization and Expansion) Act-2020 and the authority vested in the government under the Companies Act 1994 as the legal basis for the appointment. Sheikh Bashir Uddin’s appointment aligns with the Articles of Association of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited.
