Nilphamari: An adolescent was killed in a road accident in the Daroani area on the Nilphamari-Syedpur road of the district this evening. The deceased was identified as Iftekhar Jahan Rohan, 15, the son of Abdul Quddus Sarker from Sutipara village in Sadar upazila of the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a private car and a motorcycle collided head-on in the area. Rohan, who was riding the motorcycle, was critically injured in the collision. Locals at the scene rescued him and initially sent him to Nilphamari General Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have initiated legal action in connection with the incident.
