Dhaka: Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan today inaugurated the National Halal Laboratory, which is equipped with international standard gadgets, at the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI). In a significant step towards ensuring product quality and safety, he also opened the first Helmet Testing Laboratory in Bangladesh, aimed at ensuring the quality of helmets for drivers and riders.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Adilur Rahman Khan inaugurated these laboratories as the chief guest during a function organized at BSTI in the capital. During the event, Adilur emphasized that the establishment of the National Halal Laboratory is a crucial government initiative to boost Bangladesh’s export potential.
A discussion was also conducted in the BSTI conference room as part of the inaugural function. Adilur noted that the global demand for halal products is on the rise and highlighted the importance of BSTI’s steps towards halal certification and the establishment of the National Halal Laboratory as a timely move.
He also called on all stakeholders to ensure that the BSTI logo and QR code are affixed to helmets before they are bought, sold, or used, to guarantee compliance with quality standards.
