Activist of Banned Bangladesh Chhatra League Arrested with Weapons in Gopalganj

Gopalganj: A team of joint forces arrested an activist of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League and recovered locally made weapons during a drive in the Bus Stand area under Kashiani upazila of the district early this morning. The arrestee was identified as Nahid Hasan Apu, 26, son of Abdur Razzak Sheikh, a resident of the upazila.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kashiani Police Station Kamal Hossain stated that acting on a tip-off, a team of joint forces conducted a raid at Nahid Hasan's house and arrested him. During the search, they recovered eight chapatis, an axe, two knives, two sickles, two bottles of foreign liquor, and a mobile phone from the location.

A case has been filed in connection with the recovery of weapons and the arrest of Nahid Hasan Apu. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
