Hazaribagh: Police today arrested three unidentified youths in connection with the fatal stabbing of student Shahriar Sharmin Binti (14) in Hazaribagh. The arrestee was identified as Siam alias Emon (19). He was taken into custody during a raid in the Kathal Bagan area under Kalabagan Police Station.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the drive, police also recovered a blood-stained knife, the victim's blood-stained clothes, and a mobile phone from him. Police sources revealed that the victim Binti and the accused Siam were students at Rayer Bazar High School and had developed a relationship.
On Wednesday night, Siam allegedly attacked and injured Binti near Charkghata under Hazaribagh police station following a personal disagreement. Local residents rescued her and she was taken to Sikder Medical Hospital in a critical condition. She was later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she was declared dead by the on-duty doctors.
Following the incident, the victim's father, Md. Billal Hossain, filed a murder case with Hazaribagh Police Station. Police utilized intelligence information and technology to track Siam's location, leading to his arrest.
