Chattogram: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has conducted raids on two offices of the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) in the Chattogram region over allegations of irregularities. ACC Assistant Director of Chattogram Integrated Office-1, Syed Alam, confirmed the operation today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the enforcement team, led by Syed Alam himself, raided the Sales and Distribution Division offices in Agrabad and Halishahar on Sunday. The raids were initiated following allegations that work orders had been issued to three contracting organizations in violation of the Procurement Act.
The ACC identified the three organizations as PSDC UECC AC JB, PSDC UECC JB, and M/s Sohel Inc., which allegedly received work orders through irregular means. During the operation, ACC officials collected and reviewed records from the offices and took statements from the concerned authorities.
The verification process involved checking turnover records, credit lines, work experience certificates, supply work documents, quality control certificates, manufacturer authorization letters, and blacklisting status in the e-GP system of the companies involved.
ACC official Syed Alam stated, "We have collected some records in response to the complaint and are seeking additional information. The enforcement team will review the documents and submit a report to the commission."
