Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has conducted operations at 13 election offices across the nation in response to complaints of harassment related to the issuance, correction, and delivery of national identity cards (NID).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Assistant Director of the ACC, Md Tanjir Islam, shared details of these operations at a press briefing held at the commission’s headquarters in Segun Bagicha. The ACC initiated these drives from its 13 District Integrated Offices after receiving reports of harassment by staff members at various election offices.
The targeted districts for these operations include Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Barisal, Patuakhali, Pirozpur, Rangpur, Thakurgaon, Kurigram, Dinajpur, Mymensingh, and Jamalpur. The ACC’s actions aim to address and mitigate the issues faced by citizens in obtaining their national identity cards.
