Dinajpur: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has taken legal action against four individuals accused of fabricating documents and engaging in corrupt activities to unlawfully alter the ownership of land belonging to a tribal community in Bochaganj upazila, Dinajpur. The case, filed by ACC’s Assistant Director of the Dinajpur district office, Md Ismail Hossain, names Abdul Khalek along with three sons of Taij Uddin Mollah as the accused in this matter.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Deputy Director of the ACC Dinajpur office, Md Ataur Rahman, confirmed the filing of the case. The accused, residents of Mushidhat village in Bochaganj upazila, allegedly conspired to fabricate 20 documents to illegally transfer the ownership of 23 acres and 31 cents of land from the tribal community.
The ACC’s investigation into this case has been ongoing since February 2021. The investigation team has conducted multiple on-site visits, recorded witness testimonies, and scrutinized the 20 documents purportedly prepared by the accused. They have also reviewed the original land ownership records to verify the claims made in the complaint.
Md Ismail Hossain, appointed as the Investigating Officer (IO) in the case, continues to lead the inquiry, focusing on unraveling the alleged corruption and document fabrication involved in this land ownership alteration.
