Kaliganj:The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has undertaken operations at the Kaliganj Sub-Registrar Office in Jhenaidah and the Chandpur 250-bed General Hospital. The drives were initiated to investigate allegations of bribery and overcharging at the registrar office, and negligence in healthcare services at the hospital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, separate teams from the ACC's Enforcement Unit executed the operations. In Kaliganj, the team uncovered irregularities, including the collection of bribes for thumb impressions. A master-roll employee was apprehended during the operation, leading to legal actions and the collection of pertinent records.
Meanwhile, in Chandpur, the ACC's Integrated District Office team focused on doctors' attendance, healthcare service quality, and patient harassment concerns. They scrutinized attendance registers, biometric records, and observed patient congestion. Feedback was collected from service recipients regarding healthcare quality, service obstacles, and harassment issues.
The ACC team also evaluated ticket distribution, outpatient and inpatient services, patient meals, and inspected the kitchen, wards, and pathology department. They checked if patients were receiving necessary treatments and healthcare services. Upon concluding the inspection, the team advised hospital authorities to enhance healthcare service quality, timely service delivery, and eliminate harassment.
