Satkhira: The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) carried out a raid at the Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex, resulting in the arrest of seven individuals accused of engaging in commission-based operations at various laboratories and diagnostic centers within the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the individuals arrested in the operation were identified as Al Mamun Badsha, 25, Rezaul Islam Gazi, 42, Sagor Hossain Rony, 20, Milon Kumar Ghosh, 18, Achinta Kumar Baiddya, 44, Prosenjit Kumar Mondal, 31, and Marjina Khatun, 60. Following the arrests, the ACC team sentenced Al Mamun Badsha, Rezaul Islam Gazi, Sagor Hossain Rony, and Milon Kumar Ghosh to three days in jail, while the other individuals were fined.
The operation was led by Assistant Commissioner (AC) Land of Shyamnagar and Executive Magistrate Rashed Hussain, alongside Assistant Director of the ACC Khulna Integrated District Office, Md Zahid Fazal. Initial investigations by the team uncovered evidence suggesting that a faction of doctors and staff at the hospital were referring patients to certain laboratories and diagnostic centers in exchange for commissions.
A report detailing the findings of this operation will be submitted to the ACC Headquarters in the near future.
