ACC and TIB Sign MoU to Enhance Anti-Corruption Efforts

Dhaka: The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) have entered into a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate efforts in preventing corruption. The agreement was formalized at the ACC headquarters located in the Segunbagicha area of the city.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the MoU was signed by ACC Director General (Prevention) Md Akhter Hossain and TIB Executive Director Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, representing their respective organizations. The signing ceremony was attended by ACC Chairman Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen, Commissioner (Investigation) Brigadier General (Rtd) Hafiz Ahsan Farid, Commission Secretary Mohammad Khaled Rahim, and senior officials from TIB.



The agreement aims to enhance anti-corruption initiatives through collaborative efforts such as public awareness campaigns, ethics promotion, procedural improvements, research, training, policy dialogue, and advocacy over the next five years. This new MoU builds on previous collaborations between the two organizations.



The ACC and TIB have a history of cooperation, having first signed a two-year MoU on May 25, 2015. This collaboration was extended for an additional two years and four months on June 5, 2017, and further extended for another three years on October 7, 2019. The fourth phase of their agreement was signed on September 28, 2022, for three years, and today’s signing marks the continuation of this ongoing partnership.
