Manikganj: Abahani Limited Dhaka finished runners-up in the Bangladesh Football League (BFL) after defeating Arambagh Krira Sangha 4-0 in the last round of the league held at Shaheed-Miraj-Tapan Stadium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nigerian forward Emeka Ogbugh broke the deadlock by scoring the first goal in the 43rd minute of the match. Following halftime, Malian forward Soulemane Diabate doubled Abahani’s lead with a goal in the 82nd minute.
The third goal was an own goal by Nikson Chakma of Arambagh in the 88th minute, further solidifying Abahani’s lead. Midfielder Sheikh Morsalin completed the tally with a fourth goal in the 90+6th minute of the match.
With this victory, Abahani Limited Dhaka, the traditional sky blue Dhanmondi outfit, secured 37 points from 18 matches. On the other hand, Arambagh’s defeat meant they were relegated from the league, finishing with 14 points from the same number of matches.
