State Minister for Cultural Affairs K M Khalid inaugurated the fair at a function held on Town Hall premises this afternoon.
In his speech K M Khalid urged students and youths to read books to acquire knowledge.
Divisional commissioner Umme Salma Tanzia chaired the function. Director of Nazrul Institute AFM Hayat Ullah, Additional Deputy Inspector General of police Sazzadur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner Mostafizar Rahman, Director, National Book Centre, Minar Monsur, poet Farid Ahmed Dulal and the President of Mymensingh district unit Awami League Eheteshamul Alam were present.
The fair will remain open for visitors from 3 pm everyday and would continue till September 28. A total of 61 stalls have been set up in the fair.
