Sylhet:Towhid Hridoy's impressive maiden century has led Bangladesh to a score of 205-7 by lunch on the third day of the second and final cricket Test against the West Indies at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Hridoy reached his century in the last over of the morning session, taking a single off Roston Chase after facing 171 balls. His efforts came as Bangladesh faced challenging conditions, having resumed the day at 88-3.
West Indies' left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican played a significant role in Bangladesh's struggles, claiming 3-65. He notably dismissed overnight unbeaten batter Mushfiqur Rahim for 34, ending a 73-run partnership between Hridoy and Mushfiqur. Warrican, along with Chase, contributed to a middle-order collapse that saw Bangladesh lose three wickets in quick succession.
Despite the setbacks, Hridoy's steady performance helped stabilize Bangladesh's innings. Earlier, the West Indies were bowled out for 356 in their first innings.
