NU, UPEACE, and CodersTrust Sign MoU for Student Employment and Research Enhancement

New York:National University (NU), the United Nations-initiated University for Peace (UPEACE), and US-based technology company CodersTrust have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at creating employment opportunities for students at NU-affiliated colleges and strengthening research activities.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the agreement was signed at the Trump Center in New York on Thursday local time. NU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah, UPEACE Dean Professor Mihir, and CodersTrust Co-founder and Chairman Aziz Ahmad represented their respective institutions in the signing.

The MoU outlines a collaboration in which the institutions will jointly arrange digital skills development, job-oriented training, peace education, and professional development programs for students and teachers through various learning modes, including online, offline, and blended formats.

Training programs will encompass areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, web and software development, digital marketing, data management, freelancing, and entrepreneurship. The partnership will also emphasize career counseling, workplace skills, teacher training, certificate-based courses, joint research, and international conferences.

NU will leverage its extensive network to facilitate the implementation of these programs, while UPEACE will contribute its academic expertise and curricula in areas such as peace education, conflict resolution, human rights, and sustainable development. The initiative is anticipated to aid in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in quality education, decent work and economic growth, and peace, justice, and strong institutions.
