Govt Focuses on Job Creation and Entrepreneur Development to Boost Economy

Thakurgaon:The current government, under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, is concentrating on job creation and fostering new entrepreneurs as part of efforts to rejuvenate the fragile economy. Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu highlighted these priorities while speaking to journalists at the inauguration of the Third Regional Cub Camporee 2026 held at the Thakurgaon Government Boys High School ground.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dulu discussed the government's initiatives such as the Family Card and Farmer Card programs, aimed at expanding employment opportunities and bolstering the economic capacity of the populace. He emphasized that the government is taking decisive steps to manage commodity prices and alleviate the financial strain on ordinary citizens.

Dulu remarked on the necessity of broader reforms within state institutions, citing the recent election in Thakurgaon as a positive change in the electoral system, and stressed that outdated practices would no longer be tolerated. He also mentioned the sacrifices made by youth, farmers, and students in July for the country's progression, asserting that a strong democratic system could foster national development.

The minister addressed ongoing criticism of the healthcare system's hygiene standards, advocating for cleaner hospitals, schools, colleges, and government offices. He noted improvements in Dhaka, such as the removal of unauthorized signboards, attributing these changes to the Prime Minister's emphasis on cleanliness.

Furthermore, Dulu highlighted the government's efforts to protect the younger generation from negative influences like drugs and gambling, with initiatives such as the New Kuri Sports programme. He acknowledged the role of scouting in instilling discipline and responsibility in children and mentioned plans to involve scouts in disaster response activities.

The three-day regional camporee, themed "Blue Sky, Green Forest-Building Life Through Scouting," has gathered approximately 1,200 young cub scouts from various educational institutions. The event includes activities designed to enhance children's physical and mental development, leadership skills, and humanitarian values, with local parliament members Mirza Faisal Amin, Dr. Md Abdus Salam, and Md Zahidur Rahman attending as special guests.
