Seoul:Prime Minister's Adviser on Public Administration, Ismail Zabiullah, has urged member political parties to collaborate in implementing the resolutions and declarations formed at the ICAPP conference. Zabiullah believes that such collective efforts will enable the organization to enhance its role in advocating for peace, democracy, stability, and prosperity throughout Asia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Zabiullah expressed these views during his presidential address at the fifth and final plenary session of the conference, held at the Dynasty Hall of Hotel Shilla in Seoul. He emphasized that his election as ICAPP vice-chairperson and his role in presiding over the session symbolize not only personal achievements but also the friendship, mutual trust, and cooperation between Bangladesh and political parties across Asia, along with their association with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Zabiullah lauded the constructive contributions, opinions, and proposals provided by various country representatives and praised the participants for their dedication, cooperation, and consensus in drafting and adopting the conference declaration. These efforts, he noted, demonstrate a collective commitment to enhancing mutual understanding, democracy, peace, and regional collaboration among political parties in Asia.
The 'Seoul Declaration' stressed the importance of rebuilding trust in a rapidly changing world through respect for international law, responsible leadership, robust and inclusive institutions, fulfilment of commitments, and sustained dialogue across political and geographical boundaries. It also highlighted the special responsibility of political parties to serve as connectors between governments, parliaments, and citizens in Asia to foster this trust.
On the conference's concluding day, BNP delegation leader Md. Ismail Zabiullah and Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince extended commemorative greetings to ICAPP Chairman Chung Jung-sek, Secretary General Oh Song, Vice-Chairman Mushahid Hussain Sayed, and leaders of the co-hosting South Korean parties. They also invited these leaders to visit Bangladesh and conveyed greetings from BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Political party representatives from across Asia participated in the 13th General Assembly of ICAPP, jointly hosted by South Korea's ruling Minjoo (Democratic) Party and opposition People Power Party. The conference has paved the way for new opportunities in political dialogue, mutual trust, and cooperation at both regional and international levels.
