Dhaka:A 23-year-old man was fatally stabbed by his younger brother in a family dispute in the Shantibagh area of Dhaka on Thursday evening.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased was identified as Saiful Islam Saif, the elder son of Sirajul Islam. The incident took place in their family's apartment located on the eighth floor of a 24-storey building.
Family members reported that Saif was planning to go to Australia for higher studies and was training to become a private pilot following his postgraduate education. During a quarrel inside the apartment, his 17-year-old brother allegedly stabbed him in the neck.
Saif, critically injured, was immediately taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors pronounced him dead at approximately 7 p.m. Inspector Md Habibur Rahman, in charge of the DMCH police outpost, confirmed that Saif's body is currently at the hospital morgue awaiting an autopsy.
