Savar:The industrial zone in Savar-Ashulia has begun to return to normalcy as workers have returned to their jobs and garment factories have resumed production. Since morning, workers have been seen arriving at different industrial facilities across Savar and Ashulia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during a visit to Savar-Ashulia, areas like Ulail were observed witnessing a return to regular activities, with workers back on their job. The workers themselves have expressed satisfaction after returning to work.
Meanwhile, to prevent any untoward incidents, police and other law enforcement personnel remain on high alert at key locations throughout the industrial zone. Additionally, leaders and activists from the BNP, Chhatra Dal, and Juba Dal have been present near the factories to help ensure security.
With workers returning to their workplaces and production resuming in the factories after several days of instability, relief has begun to return to the industrial zone. So far, there have been no reports of any new disturbances.
Shafiqul Islam, a sewing operator at JK Group in Savar, stated that he and his colleagues did not participate in the recent protests. He mentioned that while they seek a wage increase, they do not support attacks or acts of sabotage against garment factories, and they want the industrial facilities to remain operational.
Subhash Chandra Saha, Additional Superintendent of Police for Dhaka District, said workers have returned to their jobs, encouraged by the government's initiative to address wage increases. He informed that there have been no reports of any unrest since this morning, and as per directives from higher authorities, law enforcement personnel remain on maximum alert to ensure security in the industrial area.
