Remittance Inflows Surge by 14.2% to $12.11 Billion in FY27

Dhaka:The country's remittance inflows have seen a significant increase, rising by 14.2 percent year-on-year to reach US$12.112 billion in the current fiscal year (FY27). This growth is recorded from July 2026 to November 4.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the inflow of remittances was $10.610 billion during the same period in the previous fiscal year, based on the latest data from Bangladesh Bank.

The first four days of November 2026 alone saw remittances amounting to $647 million, which is a 40.33 percent increase over the $461 million received in the same period of November 2025. On November 4, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $126 million through formal banking channels.

The upward trend in remittance inflows is indicative of the positive momentum in overseas earnings sent via formal channels. This trend contributes to strengthening the country's foreign exchange inflows, thereby supporting external sector stability. Remittance earnings remain one of the major sources of foreign exchange for Bangladesh, as shown by the continued growth in these figures.
